Grilled Romaine Hearts

Have you ever tried grilled romaine hearts? They're delicious with a drizzle of balsamic reduction and sprinkled with blue cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 whole romaine hearts
- 2 cups balsamic vinegar
- 2 teaspoons white sugar
- olive oil (for brushing)
- crumbled blue cheese (for garnish)
Instructions
- • Gently wash and pat dry romaine hearts, removing any wilted outer leaves.
- • Balsamic Reduction: Combine 2 C balsamic vinegar and 2 t sugar in a small sauce pot over high heat. Whisk constantly until balsamic vinegar is reduced by half.
- • Brush olive oil over the entire romaine heart and place on the grill grates over medium heat. Turning periodically.
- • Once the romaine hearts begin to wilt and are warm, remove from the grill, place on a large plate, drizzle with balsamic reduction and garnish with blue cheese.
- • Cut in half or thirds and serve.
