As we enter the festive fall season we will also enter the season of festive fall treats which quickly turns to Festive Winter treats. There is something so comforting about sitting in the corner of a coffee shop with a warm pumpkin Spiced Coffee and good friends that always makes me look forward to this time of year. However, I do not enjoy drinking empty calories or breaking the bank on the overpriced seasonal lattes. I will splurge a couple of times during the season(s) for a limited time coffee beverage however the majority of the time, I come prepared with my own sweetened spiced concoction. This also allows me to enjoy a little of the Holiday treats and meals without the guilt!
Here is a quick tip to save you money and calories and avoid sabotaging your fitness goals:
- Next time you are at the grocery store, grab a container of the Pumpkin Pie Spice found in the spice aisle.
- Once you are home, mix it with Stevia to your desired sweetness (if you prefer your coffee sweetened) and store it in a travel safe container.
- Keep the Sweetened spiced concoction in your car so you are prepared for your next coffee adventure and tell them to Hold the Calories!
